Help with your website. Tricks of website design, development and maintenance. NO ADVERTS
by Sophisticat » Tuesday, 22 April 2008 11:33:39
Well, I remember I was able to use Google Adwords a couple years ago, but now, when I am trying to set my Google Adwords ad, it doesn't work... - Moreover, my ad is disapproved because of "prostitution content" (respond from Google)...
So all keywords I've chosen are disapproved: independent london escort, escorts in london, etc. ...
My adword text is quite decent and there is nothing too explicit in it: Attractive Hot Independent Escort, available in Central London.
So why there are so many ads running with escort content and I've got ad and keywords disapproval?
Did anyone faced the same issue?
Thank you very much.

Yes, I still can't figure it out... I understand that they probably got tougher about allowed content policies and that's why obviously we can't use them, but why are there at the same time so many other ads running??? - Even with , btw, more explicit content than I've tried to post...
I've tried a couple of times, experimenting with words and putting them in a most innocent neutral way... - But my ads get pending and than disapproved (as soon as I use the word "escort" in my keywords)...
Maybe some one of webmasters could light up the issue?

I think your ad has been disapproved due to your homepage content.
"I like going for dinner and out, but private time more, I think! I particularly enjoy both giving and receiving sensual body massages. I....like most of all to give pleasure to my partner. I also like to receive pleasure very much...
I prefer a naughty hotel rendez-vous for intimate and blissful moments. I am incredibly hot&wild and happy to provide full genuine Girl Friend Experience..."
Its not an exact science with google - I have a client where the same ad is listed for one county's keywords and disallowed for the next county as "adult content". Where is the logic in that ??
Anyway, try modifying your home page content, delete all the disapproved google campaigns & start again & your ads may be approved.
Good luck !

You can always ask them as others do. Quote examples
We have an assigned google rep (Not for this site.....) who suggests and helps with websites, rankings, listings and adverts. Always helpful.
This may be because we spend a small fortune.

Kind of happened to me. I took on a site which had adwords running. When the account ended, I set up a new account to admister this site. Used the exact same words, exact same site and was refused. Tried a few more times and it all went through.
Now I leave it alone and cross my fingers.
The site was specially designed to be adult free. In fact this escort has two sites, her main one, and a special site for adwords.

If my adds will not be approved, what shall I do to get my funds back?

Sounds to me a bit like Google, a US company, applying US laws and forgetting that escorting isnt illegal in the UK.
Did you pay by credit card? If so there's a chance the credit card company has to refund you, not Google...
Do you have an account with Google, for which there is a credit balance? In which case one would expect a means for the credit balance to be refunded (OK, I dont know how adwords works, just guessing here). OTOH if you've paid up front with a card and now Google are refusing the service you paid for, then I think you can go to your credit card company for a refund.

angela-in-london wrote:Yes, I paid in advance and the ads are being still disapproved, so I want my money back. Strange because there are some othe escorts ads when you do the search and they do her some dodgy keywords on their haome pages so I dont understand why mine are being disapproved.
Hi Angela,
There can be quite a range of reasons, ranging from simple spelling errors to content that Google disapproves of. I think you already know that Google officially disapproves of prostitution and if the automatic scoring of your website suggests to the software reviewing it - yes really its a computer deciding here not a human - then it may anyway block you.
What happens is that your money is not lost - just suspended - waiting for you to fix the problem. To help you Google provides a tool called, amazingly, Disapproved Ads Tool, and using that you can review you ads to pinpoint just what the problems are to fix them.
Note that its deeper than any homepage - as the bots crawl through other pages and links when scoring. So, you may need to work a bit to lower the score you have so that it passes. Its not a foolproof system of course, its pretty hit and miss actually.
I wish you well, your photos are just beautiful !

Not only were we refused by google, but actually got a phonecall!
The young lady who phoned sounded quite uncomfortable, and said that I was breaching the google policy for placing sponsored ads. She couldn't bring herself to be explicit and just said the content of our agency site was against google policy.
When the eventually emailed, the message clearly stated "advert not approved. Reason: promotion of prostituton.".
I emailed them back, and asked why dozens of other agencies were allowed to put their ads up. They responded that "some slip through the net, but we get them eventually" (yeah, right!).

Google Adwords has now stopped its Pay Per Click (sponsored links) for all Escort Web sites. This includes Escort directories, Escort agencies, independent Escort sites... in fact any site that has any connection with the escort industry.
I have encountered this problem myself... it's really annoying all this banning thing. So, I have asked my designer for a SEO campaign in order to get more traffic to my website. I think this is our last choice..

Google used to allow escort related ad-word campaigns but doesn't permit them any longer. It is still possible to to get escort related sites into ad-words by only by cleverly (dishonestly?) using terms such as "dating" .
Whilst it is possible to get passed the prohibited keywords and direct users to escort related sites it is prohibited in googles ad-words T&C so you risk being banned from ad-words and loosing your credits.
I would say this is a good thing, one less thing to worry about, and one less thing to spend money on! Some of the search terms were more than £1 per click, which is ludicrous.
(i am aware that this post is aging somewhat but wanted to post a definitive "not allowed")
