Hello, I am back and curious to see what your opinion is about this one: Recently I have noticed that many people use pictures of children for their profile on facebook. I understand if you are careful and selective on facebook, but why would you apply to be an escort friend online using the picture of a naked child? Recently I started deleting a number of people from my friends list using kids pics as I find it inappropriate and t creeps the hell out of me. I shall mention that some of the pics had weird vibes about them. Shouldn't facebook take more responsability? Am I been paranoyed or do you also find it weird? Could this be a sign of something sinister? Considering the nature of what I promote, it makes me only suspicious that someone wants to be my friend and use a child's pic. Please do share your thought PS Nce to be back

Hi, completely agree with you. Using kids pictures in this way is at the very least distasteful.

I didn't think many Escorts would use Facebook as a media for advertising???
Facebook seems far too public and generalized for promoting adult services online.
I understand that Twitter on the other hand is a good media for networking and recommend this to Escorts and Agencies that I develop sites for.
The added bonus with Twitter is it easy to include a complete stream of your posts on your main site.
Another "Tip" Google Places! When used correctly is currently the best way of getting on Google's first page for very competitive keywords. For more information and advice... PM me!

Definitely agree with you. i don't think Facebook shld be the place where ppl put the pictures of their children as pretty much anyone can look at them. but on the other hand ppl do what they like with their pictures.

I missed this thread when it first started, but I am interested to find that it has popped to the top of the list where I can see it, because I have just joined Facebook (after deliberately avoiding it for several years - long story, not telling!)
The main reason I had avoided Facebook was due to security issues, so I was very careful about the information I put on my profile. I intended to get the account working and then return later to update the profile. When I returned, I found it had already made a load of suggestions of people who might be my friends. Most were complete strangers to me, but some of the suggestions were shocking and I wondered how Facebook had managed to connect them to me on such a small amount of information.
I eventually decided that some sort of connection had been made with my email address, as that was the only real piece of information I had given that could identify me from several thousand others. But even that doesn't quite fit because the suggested possible friends are people I have never been in email contact with, but have something to do with a person I have been in email contact with e.g. an ex-colleagues brother (that I have never emailed) and the teenaged daughter of someone I used to be in touch with several years ago, several daughters of people I know. In fact, although the list grew longer day by day, it was a few days before it suggested someone I had actually been in contact with.
Strange! I'm thinking that Facebook has probably got access to a lot more stored data that it is admitting to!
Regarding photos - if a person doesn't want their their own face to be seen, it seems pretty cowardly for them to hide behind someone else's photo. As for using a photo of a child (whether dressed or not), surely we should be doing what we can to protect vulnerable people in the community, not exposing them to possible harm, shouldn't we?

I am now noticing same thing with other social sites but the difference is that I am a lot more careful and selective!
Some of the pics I come across are creepy!

I guess like anything else there are two sites to the coin and so to facebook.
Many use it for various reasons and so it isnt all bad, but I think it should be under stricter control, that is for sure!
